On Wednesday, 25 March, Inalco students took part in a visit to Meudon to explore the legacy of Milan Rastislav Štefánik in France. The excursion provided an opportunity to better understand the connections between this major historical figure and the French context.

The group notably visited the Meudon Observatory, where Štefánik worked from 1905 to 1910, following his arrival in Paris in 1904. On this occasion, one of the students delivered a short presentation on his years in France, offering the group further insight and enriching the visit.

The group also had the pleasure of welcoming the Deputy Mayor for Culture and twinning, Ms. Sylvie Vucic, who came to meet the students and engage with them about the initiative.

Beyond its historical dimension, the visit highlighted the unifying role of Štefánik’s legacy, bringing together students, academics, and local stakeholders around a shared heritage.
